St Mary’s Secondary School, Askeaton. A trip down memory lane

Hi there and céad míle fáilte to Memories of St Mary’s.
I have set up this website, in an attempt to gather together as much information as possible, about St Mary’s secondary school, Askeaton from its founding in 1940 through to its rebirth as Coláiste Mhuire in 1994.
It is a mammoth task and one which will never be complete, but, as a certain lady said, ‘never put off until tomorrow what you can do today’ and ‘all that you do, do with your might, things done by half are never done right’, so we’ll try!!.
The success of this venture lies totally with you, the readers, past pupils, teachers and friends of St Mary’s. Without your continuing contributions, of photographs and stories, there will be no memories gathered.
What we have so far is just a flavour of what can be. With your continued contributions of photographs and memories, the website can continue to grow and become a true reflection of St Mary’s legacy.
I encourage you to get in touch, through this website or our Facebook page. I would sincerely like to thank those of you who have taken the time and effort to contribute ‘Memory essays’ and photographs, and I look forward to many more.
In advance, I apologise for errors, omissions and any offense which may be caused, albeit unintentionally, to anyone. Please message the page to amend any errors.
If there’s any past pupil/pupils out there who would like to smarten up this website I would be more than delighted to hear from them!
Now sit back, relax and click on the Memory essays above and enjoy the memories
